Valeria (she/her) is a mental health and social services professional who aspires to curate a philosophy of practice that is centred around education, transparency, and humility. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. Â

Valeria has several years of experience working with children, adults, and their families in various capacities across mental health, child welfare, and family law systems. Her interests include: mental health care across the reproductive cycle, reconciliation in child welfare, and reducing barriers to service. Valeria hopes to leverage both her frontline and lived experiences in her work with Border(ing) to better understand the intersections of child welfare, immigration, and systemic racism.Â
