OASW Learning Centre Webinar

Jul 29, 2022

On July 29 2022, the team presented a webinar for the OASW Learning Centre. In this webinar, we explored the gaps and challenges in social work practice related to recognizing and safeguarding the immigration status of children and youth in care. Using an intersectional lens that focuses on anti-Black racism and systemic racism, we worked to co-create knowledge on how immigration status shapes the practice of social workers working in child welfare. We also explored practical ways and strategies to analyze cases where precarious immigration status appears in child welfare.
